Excellent location, right by the main tram terminal and short walk to train station. Well placed to walk to the lake and other main sights. Very spacious room, slightly quirky style which we really liked. Comfortable beds, good shower and nice and quiet...slept very well. Reception staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was basic, but does the job ! Does get busy so worth getting up early as they did run out of things sometimes. A welcome bottle of wine was a nice gesture!

Fantastic breakfast buffet, fast elevator and wonderful staff. Rooms are fairly large and have comfortable beds. Very modern, airy feel. Fantastic location just steps from the main train station.

Location was great! Clean and comfortable room. Several eateries around the location. Good breakfast. Friendly staff and they were able to accommodate my request for a later checkout. Truly appreciated that we were able to rest longer in the room before we checked out to take our train to the airport.

Great location and the room was large, well appointed and with a good view over the roofs of Zürich. The bathroom was also large with a walk-in shower with plenty of space for 2 people to get ready in the morning. The breakfast buffet had a good selection. They don't put out too much food to keep it from having to be thrown out at the end and encourage to order freshly prepared eggs and breakfast foods. The hotel is newly renovated and everything is clean, modern and well thought out. The staff is friendly and professional. The location is less than 10 min from Hauptbahnhof and 3 min from Central where you can catch all the train, tram and bus connections thru town and country. The old town is right outside the hotel and all kind of restaurants, bars and shopping is within easy walking distance.

If you are looking for a hotel that is quiet but close to the train station, the Sorell Rutli is a good option. We upgraded from the basic room which I recommend doing. The room is still small but doable with a 2 chair sitting area. Bathroom is miniscule but has a nice ledge for your essentials. Housekeeping staff are exceptional, especially the lady on floor 4 on October 19 and 20. Front desk staff are very personable and helpful also. Location is at the start of the old town area but only 5-6 minutes walk from train - easily accessed over the main bridge from station, very few cobblestones. Google took us some convoluted way over a walking bridge - a supposedly9 minute walk but with a cobblestone walk and then up a hill. It was longer with suitcases. Look at the map and go the sensible way. It is perfectly safe with crosswalks, flat terrain and few cobblestones.

The personal was extremely nice and helpfull. Of course there were not many services available but it was expected. Everything was clean at all times. The hotel was very comfortable, perfect to explore the city or for those who are traveling for business. The breakfast was really nice, coffe was served quickly and the food was fresh and in perfect state, they had everything one would expect for breakfast (i.e. eggs, fruits, bread, yogurt, etc.) and it was included in the price, wich is very nice in a city as expensive as Zurich. The hotel is extremely well located, I arrived from the airport in about 40 minutes, it is a direct connection and is hard to get lost. You have a lot of restaurantes if you want to eat out, and there are many convenience stores nearby in case you are looking for something quicker and cheaper. They even let you an umbrella at the room, it feels like everything is taken care off to make your stay easy. Its the perfect hotel if you want to arrive and check out quickly.

Good location our room was big - but probably due to it being a corner room - ac worked well - something to watch in Europe as a lot of hotels don’t have ac - it was 33 degrees outside - breakfast generic hotel style

Location - 5 min walk from the main train station. The little things ; like umbrella and shopping bag hanging in room to use if needed. Coffee machine in room The big things; Reception staff especially David when we checked in so helpful to our friends who booked the right brand, wrong hotel and the Breakfast staff both mornings Breakfast is very good and the women work tirelessly to get everyone coffee and keep the dining area clean

My daughter and I came to Zürich for a 3 night city break, and specifically to go to a concert. Our stay at the Sorell Hotel Rütli was really great. We received a free upgrade when we checked in, which made the stay even more comfortable with more space and larger twin beds instead of the double room I had booked. Coffee machine and kettle in room was good to have, and fridge was handy for our drinks, water etc. Large bathroom. Everything was very clean. Choice of pillows is extensive! Breakfast was included, which made our stay good value. And the breakfast spread was very nice, varied and fresh. Fresh breads, croissants, buns, yogurts, dried fruit, bircher, cereals, scrambled eggs, falafel, eggs for you to boil, and pancakes. Delicious jams and honey, chocolate spread, maple syrup... A perfect location too - just a couple of minutes walk to the main Zürich HB station, and to the polybahn up to the university buildings where you get a great view of sunset over Zürich. Zürich museum, next to the station, is really good. Also located right by cafés & restaurants, the river, and then amble along the river & cute streets to the cathedrals etc. The pizza at the small place up the road from the hotel was very good and very good value. We loved our stay and really loved Zürich, it is such a compact, lovely, clean, easy city! I would suggest considering the Zürich Card if you are staying for a day or a few, and not really planning to travel across the country to mountains etc -the ZC covers all transport in and around Zürich and the wider area, plus gives you free or discounted entry to some places. Makes life very very easy.
